Episode 421 Bill Brown is a First Class Father and Former Navy SEAL. In 2019 he led a unique fundraising effort by organizing a group of more than 30 former and active SEALs to complete the first-ever legally sanctioned swim across the Hudson River to raise money for the GI Go Fund, a nonprofit that helps veterans in need. The swim began at Liberty State Park in New Jersey and ended in Battery Park in lower Manhattan with stops at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island for pushups and pullups. From Battery Park, the group jogged to One World Trade Center for a ceremony near the 9/11 Memorial. The SEALs repeated the event this year and raised even more money for veterans. Bill is a graduate of Rutgers University and Rutgers Law School. He comes from a military family in which both of his grandfathers and his father are veterans. In this Episode, Bill shares his Fatherhood journey which includes two children. He describes his experience swimming across the Hudson River and why he decided to put the event together. He discusses his parenting struggles once he returned from combat in Iraq. He talks about his faith and why it’s important to him. He offers some great advice for new or about to be Dads and more!
