Years removed from the bright spotlight of Reality TV two former cast members of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette joined me for a conversation about Fatherhood and Family Life.  In honor of this years Season Finale of The Bachelor, a two night event Monday and Tuesday (March 11 & 12) First Class Fatherhood is dedicating two episodes to men who found true love as a result of their experience on the popular series.

The first rose goes to Ryan Sutter, 44, who was Trista Rehn’s choice on the first ever season of The Bachelorette.  In Episode 155 of First Class Fatherhood, Ryan discusses the challenges of competing with so many guys for the same woman.  According to Ryan, the biggest difficulty came much after his engagement to Trista.  As he watched the events unfold for the first time, he struggled with seeing his future bride express her feelings for some of the other men on the show.  Ryan also shares his biggest regret looking back after all these years and tells me what he really wishes he could change about one specific choice he made.

Ryan and Trista were married on live TV and he speaks fondly of the event.  The couple have two children together and Ryan did have some concerns when I asked him, “What age would you be comfortable with your kids watching the Season in which you and Trista met?”

Ryan offers a great behind the scenes account of his experience with the show and shares his plans for the future.  It is a tell all interview with some deep insight into Ryan’s journey of becoming a First Class Father.

The second rose goes to Jason Mesnick, 42, was the runner up on Season 4 of The Bachelorette and was featured on Season 13 of The Bachelor.  Jason, who was already a First Class Father, created some controversy by proposing to and becoming engaged with Melissa Rycroft and then having a change of heart, breaking up with Melissa and ultimately marring runner up Molly Malaney.

In Episode 156 of First Class Fatherhood, Jason opens up about the experience of being a single Dad looking for true love in a reality show with millions of viewers.  He tells us some of the plans the producers of the show had in store for his son Ty and how he refused to allow his son to participate in a few of their requests.  Jason also sheds light on the Seasons failed attempt to gain the rights to a certain film to boost the story-line of his particular situation.

Jason and Molly, through all the craziness, are still happily married and have a daughter together.  He discusses his new passion and shares some ideas he has for the second half of what has been an extraordinary life so far.

Both Ryan and Jason share thoughts on the changing times since their appearance on the series.  Say what you will about Reality TV.  The Bachelor is closing its 23rd season this week and has produced some successful marriages and between these two contestants, three lives have been added to the world.  Don’t miss our conversations about it all as millions of viewers wait in anticipation of Colton Underwood’s choice on The Bachelor!
